One way to think about a person is as a personality. A bunch of facts about age look history ancestry friends etc, plus personality traits that interact in weird ways. People experience states of personality where certain traits are heightened. These can be triggered by events related to things they care about

Another way is that a person is an agent that has goals both those it was designed/selected for (by evolution itself) and learned goals that are learned through experience. To predict you just ask: what are your goals and what course of action serves it

I know these models aren’t exclusive. But I am highlight a real contrast in thinking about people. As psyches with free will or intelligently selected machines

They have their advantages in their own context
