LLMs have proved that language can be approximated by a computable function. It is an exercise in showing that the universe is computable, or that computation is the right way to view the world.
This computable function is approximated by a transformer after tons of data and compute are used. But it is just another example of things in the universe being computable.

My neuro professor recently explained that "the brain is not a computer". I am skeptical. He takes computer at face value. No, computer is a class of systems, and he has yet to explain why the brain is not in this class. It runs programs
